Scott O’Donnell is a labor-focused leader, advocate, and sponsor whose work is rooted in service to working families and deep respect for the institutions that represent them. His involvement across national, regional, and state labor organizations reflects a consistent commitment to showing up, supporting leadership spaces, and contributing to the long-term strength of the labor movement.
Scott views each invitation to participate in labor leadership gatherings as a genuine honor—one that responsibility, trust, and accountability.
Commitment to the Labor Movement
Scott has participated in AFL-CIO conventions and regional counsel meetingsthroughout the Southeast and South Central regions. Scott has also participated in the IBEW District Progress leadership forums throughout the United States. These gatherings bring together state federation presidents, officers, organizers, and national labor leaders to collaborate on policy, organizing strategy, and member well-being.
Participation in these forums typically requires formal sponsorship and exhibitor commitments, including registration fees, exhibitor costs, and tiered sponsorship levels established by the host organizations.
Personal Sponsorship & Participation Support
In multiple instances, Scott chose to participate by personally covering all required participation and sponsorship costs, including Silver- and Gold-level sponsorships, exhibitor fees, and related meeting expenses.
These sponsorships were provided individually by Scott, not through an employer, affiliate, or third party. They were intended solely to support the success of the meetings and the leaders who rely on them. Covering these costs enabled Scott to participate fully in leadership discussions, engage directly with federation and district leaders, support the operational success of the events, and respect the established sponsorship structures set by labor organizations.
This approach reflects Scott’s belief that contributing to leadership spaces should be done with integrity, transparency, and respect for the organizations hosting them.
IBEW District Progress Meetings
Scott personally supported multiple IBEW District Progress Meetings, where participation requires both exhibitor registration and formal sponsorship commitments.
Districts personally sponsored by Scott include IBEW 4th District, IBEW 5th District, IBEW 7th District, IBEW 9th District, and IBEW 10th District.
For each of these meetings, Scott covered all participation-related expenses directly, including the sponsorship levels designated by the host districts. These contributions allowed him to engage in district-level conversations focused on workforce development, member well-being, and leadership collaboration.
A Sponsorship Philosophy Rooted in Service
Scott’s approach to sponsorship is intentionally straightforward and respectful. When participation requires financial contribution, he meets those requirements personally and transparently—without expectation of recognition or preference.
His purpose has always been to support leadership forums that strengthen unions, honor the structures established by labor organizations, and contribute quietly to environments where collaboration and trust can grow.
Looking Forward
Scott O’Donnell remains deeply committed to supporting labor leaders and working families through continued engagement, service, and responsible participation. As Founder and President of Union Plan 125, he carries these same values forward—pairing compliant benefit strategies with a leadership approach grounded in humility, clarity, and respect.
It continues to be an honor for Scott to participate alongside national, regional, and state labor leaders, and he looks forward to continuing this work with gratitude and purpose.
